I think about making back a videoblog, like I began (and abandonned) last march... But this time, with english subtitles :)
Acid whispers, between full and emptyness, my heart gets rusted but never get ruined. Barbed-wire melodies, switches games with their attributed effects, I'm looking for alchemy with no reason. Contrasts fight and merge, here is my pleasure. Music, escape-purgatory, if only I could never leave this state of mind I have right now, composing again, a music which probably will only be the pleasure of a researches night. Things which doesn't last have a perfection taste that uncertainty makes spicy.
Beyond the flare of noise, behold, listen, this my heart that your hear, dully beating...
This week has really been motivating for several reasons.. and I enjoy it ! Here is a short preview of my day :
HARDWORKERZ NEVER DIE ! A professionnal meeting with a client who would like a webstore. Then, me and one of my professionnal mates gonna make a webstore with a full graphic design ! I sent a lot of t-shirts too, the offer of the moment working good, I'm so happy of it ! Finally, I spent time on composing, then preparing tracks to send'em to FATBROS studio for the final mix. Well, it was a good day !!!

Cuz this morning, I finally got the new cd of Psyclon Nine, available since the 9th september on their label website, Metropolis Records.
WE THE FALLEN
For 4 years, I buy every albums of Psyclon Nine. Each new one is ordered as fast as I can. We the fallen, their new album, is a pure masterpiece. A perfect bend between their beginnings and the 3rd album, more metal. I ever like the work of Psyclon Nine, the way of thinking of ner0, singer and maker of the band, and then, I ever respected and liked their artistic choices, even for this 3rd album which has disapointed some of their fans. This evolution is awesome, and this 4th album is a high kick put right in teeth in a violent way. It almost made me cry, cuz the beauty of the sound is really amazing. Long life to PN, this band which is on the top of my favorite artist list !
MY SOUND
And this kind of musical bliss give me the deepest will to work on my own sound, spend more time on my machines, make my sound evolve in the way I want. To compose a first beat and some melodic lines on FL studio, to write first lyrics that this first sketch inspired me, make my fingers slip on the black and white keyboards, begin to mix the different parts, edited on Ableton Live, helped of my APC40, create more rythmic parts on FL, export them, edit them on Live again, etc..till I get a good track to send to the studio for the final mix. It took me time to get all this audio stuff, but now I'm happy cuz I have my own little lab : synths, extern soundcard, midi controllers, softs (FL studio and Ableton Live, last versions). Then, I can compose like with free hands !
G, M, V, F. Behind these four letters, a project whch was born one year ago. It's all about emptyness, psychic and physical wounds, attempts to look like feeling emotions, etc.. That's on what I'm working since the final mix of our upcoming album has been done. From the composition to the lyrics, it takes time to take place, but I've a particular goal, a deep will to create a second album built around a concept well develloped in its lyrics, in a totally complete way.
YOUR WALLS AREN'T THICK ENOUGH
That's the first time I work on a main theme, even if there's a lot of ideas in. Musically, G.M.V.F will be very open : hip hop and crunk influences for the rythms, a back to roots with synths and electro sounds (more than on our upcoming album, From the Grave, which will be probably available end 2009 / beginning 2010), some noisy sounds, and as always this rock'n roll energy we have with Scread. Well, UNDEAD ROCKSTRIAL like we like to do ! Not like other musics, full of various influences, crazy, without taking care of barriers of any kind, but as always, without losing ourselves ! Some tracks made from this reflexion would be played on November 22th @ the Klub (PARIS, FRANCE). We never stop to work : I composed two months without getting out The Grave, Scread played a lot at our trainings or with his other bands, etc.. Well, we gonna rock the stage for our coming back ! Don't beg on your knee, never give up, be fierce !
Aujourd'hui, une fois de plus, ma journée fût bien remplie...
A CLOTHING BRAND I'm actually working on a project I never really thought about before : to create my clothing brand. It's obvious that the musical part of SIMPLYD4RK takes a lot of my time, and when that's not the case, my graphic designer / illustrator activity does it. Well, this year I worked for shops like Rock à Gogo (check MY JOB part of this blog on the right-side menu) to design some t-shirts. This has been the starting point of my reflexion. Cuz if the job of illustrator is full of passion, you have to work for a client, and then you can't do everything you want. I ever focused on this in my life : to create something which looks like me, in music, writting, graphism, in my drawings, then.. why not for clothes ? (event if that has been a bit the case with SIMPLYD4RK's t-shirts :D). I will keep you informed about the evolution of this project, enjoy ! HOW DO YOU LIKE TO WEAR T-SHIRTS ? CLOSE TO YOUR BODY ? LARGE ?
UNDEAD ROCKSTRIAL GEEKS !
A creative week-end spent in Rennes to Yohann Starscream's house, one of my friends who's guitarist. In fact, I don't play guitar, I compose everything with my synths, machines and my computer ! I brought almost 20kg of stuff there (soundcard, computer, midi controllers, keyboard, etc..), install it and we looked for a fucking personnal guitar sound. Then I played a lot with switches of Yohann's stuff and we tried some different things, it was really interesting and fun. Well, from friday afternoon to sunday we recorded all parts I needed, composed new ones together, ate a lot, drank a lot, and had fun on Street Fighter IV on XBOX 360 !! :) Finally I decided to keep guitarsynths for my compositions, I prefer the cold sound it has :p
