4 true vacation days. I found back myself, recover from all these years, I'm feeling good. A song of Sisters Of Mercy in my ears, another one of London After Midnight then, I'm back to work with a lot of motivation, even if it's so hard to get back to work after those amazing days ! > . < I just can't wait to be back in holliday... 21 days left !
MY HEART SINGS YOUR ABSCENCE
A training spent to compose with Scread last saturday. I'm inspired, probably the Year Zero syndrom... It's like I've been looking for my way for years, lost in obscurity, with only stable point that the creation and my music. It's sometimes something needed to lose itself to, few years later, find a new path where we fit so perfectly. Free mind. These four days gave me a great slap, and each day my heart sings the abscence of these amazing moments. Life ain't an easy thing, but sometimes some efforts are necessary four our happiness. This world is a fightworld.
HERRSCHAFT + PORN + DEXY CORP
France can be proud of this amazing industrial rock band, Dexy Corp ! The cyberpunk line-up came from Tours evolved so good these last years, and this is with a as great motivation as yesterday that I follow their gigs ! One thing is sure, saturday gig has been perfect ! A full show, with lights and effects, pure scene attitude, and Krank incarnates perfectly his strange character on stage. CONCERT MAELSTROM + THE VEIL
An awesome gig, between the freak discopunk music of Ministrom, the minimalist version of Maelstrom (synth, guitar, singer) and the industrial metal with dark influences of The Veil, lead by the voice and charisma of Jensara :) Awesome musical week-end, even if I was sometimes not in the mood for some reasons !
A big thank you to Dylan (I-Nation / The Veil) for his amazing comments, it made nice intro & outro for this video ! XD Picture (at the bottom of this post) : Ritton, Ilhan (Lycosia / Mr Po), Scread, me, Mizuki et Pika, who were playing in No Escape videoclip ! :) It was so good to see you back ! Great memories from this gig, fans from Paris are amazing !
6:50am. I wake up. Breakfast, making my hair, preparing last bags.
9H15. Scread comes to home with a friend who gonna help us for merch. Sandwich, last bags closed, we're ready !
10:40am. After putting all musical stuff of SIMPLYD4RK and The Veil in the car of Ben Notox (synths and bandmaker of The Veil), we go to Paris ! :)
02:35pm. Le Klub. Speed meeting with bands who are playing with us tonight, Gaidjinn and Lust, I'm happy to see back my friends from The Veil : Jensara, Dylan, Chris and Julien, and their manager Tanja (+ one of their friends, Marie).
03:00pm. Sound check, meeting with Marc and Muriel from Epiphora Productions (organisators) who are really adorable and professionnal ! It has been a pleasure to work with them ! After that, we're preparing our stand for merchandising.
06:35pm. Interview by Noémie Alazard for Ultra Manga, which will be on MCM TV channel in january. A portrait in few words of SIMPLYD4RK and my UNDEAD ROCKSTRIAL world (influences, inspirations, etc..)
09:45pm. Beginning of our show of a hour. My friend from Post Offense didn't come, he could'nt unfortunatelly, but the public in Paris has been amazing anyway !!! Full of energy, jumping, screaming and singing on our songs, well, it was awesome !!!! We played songs from our upcoming album, From The Grave (release in beginning 2010), and two exclusive tracks : The Crush and I'm Fierce (which has been really welcome in spite of its hip hop influences, we were so surprised and happy the public liked it !!!! That's the way ! Keep on being open-minded ! :D)
01:35am. We're going back to Nantes, after drinking some glasses of bloody mary at the Black Dog.
06:00am. Finally arrived to Nantes, without sleeping to take care of my friend who was driving. It has been a fun road trip, listening to some shitty music at the radio, telling shits all travel long and dancing on electro music etc.. Well... awesome comeback to our hometown ! :D
6:50am. Finally, I go to bed, and I'm fucking happy of it, cuz yeap, the day has been long ! But really, we totally loved it !

An afternoon spent with my bestfriend, XXVII. We don't see as often as before, but now, each moment spent together is then more precious ! A photoshoot time in an abandonned burnt house. Strong emotions, good pictures, well, a fucking Sunday !
COUNTING DAYS...
Picture : During the recording of No Escape videoclip... Last week I went to several gigs ! Banane Metalik, MC Circulaire, Jumping Jack, Aeris, awesome moments ! Training, conversations at the phone (or not !), new things to plan for SIMPLYD4RK, lack of sleep, hard awakenings, peacefull nights with friends, back to work, new contracts for my graphic job, I really enjoy my life these last days ! DO IT YOURSELF !
After getting various propositions from several labels (one very big in particular), but without finding one that I enjoy, I'm actually working to produce our cd myself ! Actually, labels rarely offer great opportunities to new artists and I don't want to become a slave, to lose my rights on my creations etc.. No way ! I've been very (too much ?) patient for months, trying to speak with different labels, for nothing, then asked a lot of questions to different contacts (journalists, labels, musicians, etc..), and then I decided to forget the idea of a label (to sign with a famous label is good... but if you have to give up everything on your creations for this... seriously... I prefer to deal with things by myself !) Then back to roots, the Do It Yourself spirit, working hand into hand with Scread and those who support us ! It gonna be lots of money to produce the cd, but we're motivated and I have my graphic designer / illustrator job beside my musician activity to help. Freedom has a price, it's obvious, but sometimes it's better to pay it. If only this music life could simply be composing, playing music, it will be easier ! ha ha. I hope you'll keep on supporting us, cuz we won't give up ! ;)
