BANANE METALIK'S GIG @ La Maison de Quartier de Doulon (NANTES)
Tomorrow in my hometown, the comeback of Banane Metalik with their awesome Gore'N'Roll sound ! I just can't wait to see back my friends, Ced (singer) & Sushie (Go-gore dancer) ! LIFE TASTES GOOD ! Things aren't so bad these last times, even good ! Deals for graphic things, projects, etc.. I luv it ! To work for several universes, the ones of my clients, is really something I like. Picture : Simplyd4rk Graphicdesign. Model : Lee. A day of february in a bar located in Paris. Our meeting with Raphael and David of Fatbros, to plan the recording of No Escape videoclip... "Dudes, you have two possibilities for your video : effects in 3D, looks great but can be obsolete with time, or we play it old school, but it's a bit kitch !". No escape being a song inspired by b-movies, we didn't hesitate at all ! Old school effects with true guts and blood ha ha ;) We played a lot of this kitch side in the videoclip : big fangs, the way of walking of the vampire (graceful, slowly), the stupid zombie, guts, etc.. making a big contrast with what we are really on stage : two wild undead !!! :)
REAL VAMPIRES.
Who's the beast and who's the man ? They walk amongst you, playing the masquerade. They look like you in appearence. Forget oversized fangs, this is a pure aesthetic fantasy born from human fears and mind. Forget garlic, holy cross and water, keep just the spirit of it all. Beware what you're watching to cinema. Human use to put his eyes only on what's spectacular, never on what looks like common or over-played...
POLICHINEL VS. SIMPLYD4RK
As you could see on my last blog, we worked together with Dna from Polichinel for the flyer of this night in Nantes, on December 19th. I just can't wait, it's really exciting to work like this together, I'm proud and happy of it, cuz that's the way I have for a great night, not being only a gig... Lots of things are planned, we have a lot of work to do but it gonna be awsome !!!!

Things are in progress, on professionnal and musical plan. It's great to feel the taste of life, a smile painted on the face, even if my eyes show the lack of sleep I have =) I realise I really lead a double life. My graphic work is really different of my musical life even if twice fits together in certain ways... There is an equilibrium to get, realities and priorities are different in each of them. It's an art to exactly place the wires of our lives to find our fragile equilibrium. I like this.

About wires, there's a marionettist that I'd like to speak about, spreading sounds and tortured poetries, POLICHINEL. Since I discovered his projet, I always kept a look on the work of this artist I really appreciate. We have some similar points, that's a fact : both projects are solo ones at the beginning, we have both visual universe (he's a photographer), and by looking at his line-up, I think we both are looking for not ordinary line-up. (things probably keep on evolving for Simplyd4rk about this in years to come, but that's not the point of this article :D). MAINSTREAMING AIN'T HAPPINESS This morning I wrote this in french : "[...] On m'a fait croire qu'il n'y avait qu'à deux que le bonheur était possible. J'ai appris une autre vérité : être deux c'est être aussi à moitié vide. [...]". (someone told me that happiness was only possible being two. I learnt another truth : to be two is to be half empty too). It's craze how since you're a child, cartoons, fairytales, etc.. teach you that you can be happy only if you find love, have children etc.. The reality ? Human's scared to be individual, to learn more about itself and take decisions. Nothing never make me feel happier than creation and gigs, to fight for the way I felt being the good one. I know who I am, my desires and choices exclusively belong to me. I live.
